About Vatican Museums Tickets
We help visitors understand Vatican Museums ticket options before they book: what each one includes, what it does not, and which visitor rules apply to everyone.
What this site is
Vatican Museums Tickets is an independent information and affiliate website. We are not the Vatican Museums, we are not affiliated with them, and we do not sell tickets ourselves. When you choose to book, you leave our site and complete the booking with our booking partner. We may earn a commission on those bookings. Read our affiliate disclosure for details.
The name Vatican Museums Tickets describes the topic of the site. It does not indicate any official status.
How we compare tickets
For each ticket we cover, we read the product page and summarise the format, the main inclusions, the main exclusions and the conditions that most often catch visitors out, such as cancellation rules, meeting points and whether St. Peter’s Basilica is really part of the itinerary. We focus on a small number of clearly different options rather than listing everything available.
Prices shown on this site are starting prices for the cheapest option at the time we last checked. They are updated by hand, not in real time, and the final price is always the one on the booking page. When we cannot confirm a price, we remove it and show “Check availability” instead.
How we separate facts from advice
We use three kinds of information and try not to mix them:
- Official visitor rules, such as opening hours, dress code and photography rules, come from the Vatican Museums. Our guides link to the official pages in a Sources section.
- Product conditions, such as inclusions, meeting points and refunds, come from the specific product page and can differ between options.
- Our advice, such as how long to allow or which ticket suits whom, is editorial guidance. We label it as advice. It is not a personal account of a visit or a test of a tour.
Who writes the content
Our guides are written and maintained by the Vatican Museums Tickets Editorial Team. We are not licensed guides and do not present ourselves as such. If you spot an error or an outdated rule, please tell us and we will check it against the source.
What we do not do
- We do not publish reviews or ratings that we have not collected ourselves.
- We do not promise queue free entry, access to a site on a given day or savings.
- We cannot change, cancel or refund bookings. For an existing order, use the contact details in your booking confirmation.
